"The world offers itself to your imagination,

calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting –

over and over announcing your place

in the family of things.”

Testimonials

Kevin is a natural healer. We were in a men's group together for 5 years and as I witnessed him support other men in the group, I thought "This guy is gifted and needs to offer this work to the greater community." Kevin has an ability to guide you into the suffering that's been hiding in the shadows of your psyche and bring it into the light so that it can be healed. Kevin has a balance of strength, emotional intelligence, groundedness and humor that is needed in our modern distracted and disconnected world.

you will know how to live.

-Johann Wolfgang Goethe

As a mentor, I will support and guide you to contact the inner wisdom and healing that I believe lies at the core of each of us.

Science is beginning to show what many of us already know: that connection with Nature can be profoundly healing. Eco-therapeutics use Nature as a powerful ally to create a safe space that supports one in reconnecting with the healing

We can meet in a natural setting in either Johnson City,TN or Celo, NC, or by video or phone call. I offer 60 and 90 minute sessions based on your desires and needs.

Men's Groups

"Man is never so manly as when he feels deeply, acts boldly, and expresses himself with frankness and with fervor."

-Benjamin Disraeli

What is a Men’s Group?

A group of men that gather to support each other in their full selves, life experience and emotions and to foster each man’s growth and development towards their full potential, vitality and empowerment.

Who is a Men’s Group for?

Any man that is ready to step ever deeper into their truest self, to show up for other men who are doing the same, and to create a vital brotherhood.

What can I expect?

Most men feel a measure of discomfort in moving towards authenticity and depth with other men due to our familial and cultural role-modeling, but with solid facilitation and guidance most men move through any unease and come to feel a renewed sense of aliveness, connection to their depths and each other, and a sense of purpose and grounded power. Men also tend to return to their lives,

families, and careers with the security of knowing a group of brothers has their back and is there for them in all the seasons of their life.

When and where do the groups meet?

Groups will be held bi-monthly in Celo, NC and Johnson City, TN.

"It’s becoming clear to us that manhood doesn’t happen by itself.

The active intervention of the older men means that

older men welcome the younger man into

the ancient, mythologized, instinctive male world."

– Robert Bly

A universal aspect of all pre modern cultures was the active mentorship of youth by the mature adults and elders of a community. Sadly, this vital thread has been lost for the most part in our present culture.

In mentoring teen boys and young men, I create a safe space to support youth in exploring and reflecting upon the new world of adolescence and young adulthood that they find themselves in. I listen deeply and validate the whole range of emotions, experiences, curiosities, hardships, joys, and aspirations. In lieu of offering advice or personal opinions, I ask questions with in intention of cultivating emotional awareness and understanding and to provoke deepened thought and new perspectives. If we are in a group setting, I invite discussion and the sharing personal experience to invite a collective journey into the topics at hand.

Areas of exploration that I believe are supportive and foundational to entering adolescence and adulthood include emotional literacy and  awareness; exploring personal talents and creativity; ancestry and heritage; myth and story-telling; personal, familial and cultural values; and dreams, aspirations and desires

Wilderness Vision Fasts & Rites of Passage

Rites of Passage are ceremonies that mark, confirm and celebrate the passage of an individual into a new life phase. Birth, adolescence, adulthood, and elderhood are major passages, as are marriage, completion of study, embracing a vocation, becoming a parent, and a deep loss that shifts identity. Traditionally and ideally, these ceremonies are led by community guides, mentors and elders as well as supported and witnessed by the community which serves to root the passage deep into the individual’s being and confirm their new identity for themselves and the community at large
